The Deceased on Trial

Deceased Man “Returns to Life” and Appears in Court

A thought-provoking incident occurred in an Arizona courtroom: the image of Christopher Pelkey, who was murdered in a road rage incident in 2021, suddenly appeared on a giant screen. This wasn’t old footage, but a digital version created with artificial intelligence.
His family members created a video where Christopher, in his own image and voice, addressed the court, the murderer, and everyone present, speaking about forgiveness and hope.
The judge, those present, and even the murderer were left speechless.
This case sparked a heated public debate: Will this be what testimony looks like in the future?
Can artificial intelligence give a “voice” back to those who are gone, and how will this impact the justice system?

AI-Created Fluorescent Protein

Researchers at EvolutionaryScale have developed a new fluorescent protein named esmGFP, which does not exist in nature. The unique protein, ESM3, was created using AI by predicting protein sequences and simulating evolutionary processes. It shows potential for diverse applications in medicine and biotechnology.

Hospital with AI Doctors

China is breaking records by introducing the world’s first hospital entirely run by 42 artificial intelligence doctors. At the innovative Agent Hospital, smart AI agents operate in 21 medical departments, performing all stages of treatment: patient admission, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and follow-up, all without human intervention. In just a few days, the digital doctors treated over 10,000 simulated patients (through medical case simulations), a task that would take human doctors about two years. An impressive accuracy rate of 93.06% was recorded in diagnosing major respiratory diseases. This development is cautiously advancing under strict regulation to ensure the safe and effective integration of artificial intelligence into the healthcare system.

Google is Making a Revolution

Google has launched a sea of innovations that made me fall in love with it all over again:

Google’s NotebookLM allows you to create a podcast in 50 languages. You can create a podcast from documents, websites, audio files, and YouTube videos. I’ve conducted training on this.
They also released an app for NotebookLM.

Google released Gemini 2.5 Pro, its improved and powerful model that can perform highly complex tasks and includes Agent Mode, allowing Gemini to perform tasks on its own.

It also released its new code agent named Jules, which also knows how to perform tasks independently.

It launched a model called Veo for video creation, allowing the creation of videos up to 8 seconds long from static images without needing text prompts.
Before we could even get used to it, it released Veo-3, which allows for the creation of videos with dubbing, making it one of the craziest tools on the market. With Flow, you can also create entire cinematic scenes. This is going to change and disrupt the film industry. Check out this video, created by Veo-3.

Gemini has also been added to all Google Workspace tools, and additionally, it has been added to Chrome, allowing you to ask it questions about any website and webpage. And Google Meet now allows real-time voice translation.

It also released Gemini Speech, a text-to-audio model that allows for the creation of entire podcasts with different characters and narration for videos. And it launched Stitch, which allows for designing user interfaces and applications.

AGI has arrived. Google’s DeepMind unveiled AlphaEvolve – a new AI system capable of improving itself independently. The system excels at solving complex mathematical and scientific problems. This marks a new era of artificial intelligence capable of learning and evolving without human intervention.

We Can Detect Deepfakes

Researchers from the Netherlands recently unveiled an innovative breakthrough capable of identifying deepfake forgeries in video. The method relies on analyzing subtle changes in the heartbeat that appear on the faces of those filmed, which are very difficult to fake using digital means. This development could change the rules of the game in the fight against fake content and provide a powerful tool for identifying the authenticity of videos in an era where it’s hard to distinguish between truth and falsehood.

Artificial Intelligence Will Also Steal Your Jobs

Micha Kaufman, CEO of Fiverr, warned his employees, telling them that artificial intelligence is coming to take their jobs, and his job too.
Kaufman is not alone. He joins a growing list of CEOs, like Tobi Lütke, CEO of Shopify, and Luis von Ahn, CEO of Duolingo, who are choosing to be direct and open with their employees about the upcoming changes due to the development of artificial intelligence, how it’s changing the world of work and various industries, and that every employee needs to master AI tools to stay relevant. And the CEO of Anthropic tweeted that by 2026, the first company to reach a billion-dollar valuation with only one human employee might emerge.

Robot Chef

A Chinese robot chef is learning cooking techniques considered unlearnable by junior chefs. This is a leap in culinary automation that could reduce the need for human chefs.
BurgerBots and ABB Robotics have collaborated to open a new robot-operated hamburger restaurant where collaborative robots can assemble a burger in exactly 27 seconds, allowing human staff to focus on the customer experience.

If a robot can make a hamburger, it can also serve it. Meet Bella – a robotic waitress in a cafe, who can assist staff during peak hours. She serves food, sings songs, and can also communicate with customers.

More About Robots

Just when we thought we’d seen it all in robotics, meet SPIDAR, a four-legged robot developed at the University of Tokyo, with the ability to combine crawling on four legs with flight. It is equipped with special rotating motors on each of its four legs that can change direction.
Additionally, the developers created an advanced control system that allows the robot to transition smoothly between the two types of movement.
Although the robot still moves relatively slowly, its technology represents an important advancement in the development of robots that can move in multiple different ways. The project has been in development since 2023 and continues to progress.

Researchers have created BabyBot – a robotic infant equipped with a mouth with sensors, a soft robotic tongue, and neural circuits. It is designed to safely simulate and study infant feeding behaviors and developmental disorders without exposing real babies to invasive testing procedures.

Scientists have built a radiation-resistant spy robot. This robot can safely enter highly secured environments to provide a comprehensive situational picture while human operators remain at a safe distance.

Researchers have developed MyoStep – a next-generation soft exoskeleton designed to help children with cerebral palsy walk more easily and confidently. The lightweight system combines artificial muscles and sensors that track movements in real-time and adjust support accordingly.

Next-Gen Soft Exoskeleton Boosts Mobility for Kids With Cerebral Palsy

MIT engineers have created a robot designed to physically assist the elderly in their homes or institutions and prevent falls. The robot acts as a set of mobile robotic handles that accompany the user from behind: it provides support while they walk, sit, stand, or bend. In case of loss of balance, the robot detects the danger and quickly inflates side airbags to break the fall. Its design allows for free movement at home, support during all transition phases, and independent use, aiming to improve the safety, independence, and quality of life for the elderly.
According to projections, America’s aging population is set to reach 82 million by 2050, and this robot could be crucial in helping seniors stay mobile.

A viral clip shared by Elon Musk on X shows a humanoid robot performing dance moves with its hands and legs, demonstrating significant progress, especially in the robot’s stability compared to previous demonstrations.
